Preview: West Bromwich Albion vs. Liverpool

Liverpool travel to West Bromwich Albion for their opening game of the new Premier League season with new manager Brendan Rodgers taking on former Reds assistant boss Steve Clarke.

West Bromwich Albion and Liverpool head into the Premier League season with new managers at the helm and will have to face off on the opening day of the 2012-13 campaign.

The Baggies snatched Steve Clarke from Saturday's opponents after the Scotsman was let go by Liverpool alongside Kenny Dalglish, who was replaced by Brendan Rodgers.

Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku, who moved to the Hawthorns on a temporary basis, could get his wish for first-team football by starting up front against the Reds, while new boy Markus Rosenberg could be left to watch from the sidelines.

Peter Odemwingie and Chris Brunt are likely to provide service to Lukaku by dropping back in the wide positions for tomorrow's fixture.

Meanwhile, Rodgers is expected to throw new signings Fabio Borini and Joe Allen into the fray, with Luis Suarez, who recently signed a fresh long-term deal at the club, completing the 4-3-3 set-up with Stewart Downing.

Lucas Leiva, who missed the majority of last season with a cruciate ligament problem, should slot back into his holding midfield role, while Daniel Agger is expected to start in defence despite ongoing questions surrounding his future at Anfield.

Possible lineups:

West Brom: Foster; Reid, Olsson, McAuley, Ridgewell; Mulumbu, Jacub; Brunt, Dorrans, Odemwingie; Lukaku

Liverpool: Reina; Johnson, Agger, Skrtel, Enrique; Gerrard, Lucas, Allen; Downing, Borini, Suarez

Sports Mole says: 1-2
