West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce has described his side's 1-0 victory over Sunderland as "fantastic".
The Hammers ended their seven-game winless run in the Premier League on Saturday with a slender triumph at Upton Park.
The only goal of the contest came with two minutes remaining as Diafra Sakho found the net to lift his side up to ninth place in the table.
"The way we have let leads slip here easily, the 1-0 was a fantastic victory for us, because it was a difficult game," Allardyce told BBC Sport.
"I felt that when a chance does come along we will score and we got a clean sheet - a rarity for us - so we got both ends right today."
West Ham are back in action on April 4 when they travel to Leicester City in the league.
