Jarrod Bowen will be looking to set a new Premier League scoring record for West Ham United when they travel to Goodison Park to face Everton on Saturday.

The 27-year-old enters the contest on the back of netting his first Premier League hat-trick in the Hammers' 4-2 home win over Brentford on Monday – their first triumph of 2024 which ended an eight-game winless run.

Bowen has been one of West Ham's standout performers this season and is the club's top scorer in all competitions with 17 goals in 32 matches, eight clear of his nearest challenger Mohammed Kudus (nine).

Prior to his man-of-the-match display against Brentford at the London Stadium, Bowen had particularly excelled away from home this term and has netted seven of his 14 Premier League goals on the road.

Earlier this season, Bowen became the first player in Premier League history to score in each of his team's first six away matches in a single campaign.

The England international then missed a top-flight trip to Burnley due to injury before scoring in his next away match at Tottenham Hotspur – a 2-1 win for the Hammers – to extend his scoring run on the road to seven games.

Bowen's impressive run came to an end when he failed to score in West Ham's heavy 5-0 loss at Fulham on December 10, and he has since been unable to make the net ripple in a further four away matches against Arsenal, Sheffield United, Manchester United and Nottingham Forest, with West Ham winning just one of those in the process.

However, should Bowen get on the scoresheet in West Ham's next away game at Everton this weekend, he will become the first player in Hammers history to net eight Premier League goals on the road in a single season.

West Ham's No.20 currently sits level on seven away goals along with Trevor Morley (1993-94) and Paulo Wanchope (1999-2000).

Bowen has scored three goals in his last seven Premier League meetings with Everton, but he has never found the net in three previous visits to Goodison Park.

Discussing Bowen's form at a press conference on Friday ahead of West Ham's trip to Everton, manager David Moyes said: "I think he's so keen to score goals, and he's enjoying that feeling of hitting the net.

"He's capable of playing in different roles, but I get the sense he loves scoring goals. I've not set him a target, but if he could get to 20 goals that'd be amazing."

West Ham currently sit eighth in the Premier League table, level on points with Brighton & Hove Albion in seventh, while they are five points behind Manchester United in sixth spot. body check tags ::
