West Ham United striker Andy Carroll has claimed that he is already looking ahead to next season following a stuttering 2013-14 campaign.
The 25-year-old made just 15 Premier League appearances since making his move to Upton Park permanent from Liverpool last summer.
An Achilles problem hampered the forward's campaign, which contributed to Carroll missing out on England's 23-man squad for the World Cup in Brazil.
"I can't wait for the new season to start," Carroll told the club's official website. "I didn't want the last one to end to be honest, I still felt fresh and ready to play more games as I had missed the opening half of the season.
"We had a talk after the last match about the positives and the tough times we had when we were sucked into the relegation fight for a bit, but the gaffer, staff and all the lads had the belief that, once we came through those times and got players back, we could get better and we did."
Carroll scored two league goals last season.
