West Ham United and England legend Sir Geoff Hurst has expressed his 'excitement' about his former club's impending move to the Olympic Stadium.
The London outfit were named today as the anchor tenants for the famous ground on a 99-year lease.
"As a fan of the club it's fantastic," Hurst told the club's official website. "I'm excited and thrilled about coming to the Olympic Stadium. The club has to move forward, we need a bigger ground, we need better facilities.
"The accessibility here at Stratford is second to none. It's a major step forward and to use an old expression it's a no brainer. As a fan I wholeheartedly support it."
The Hammers will move into the home of the London 2012 Games in time for the 2016-17 season.
