David Moyes: 'West Ham United must change tactics'

West Ham United boss David Moyes admits that he will change his side's tactics when facing clubs outside of the top six in the Premier League table.

West Ham United boss David Moyes has acknowledged that he must tinker with his tactics, despite recording four points from games against Chelsea and Arsenal.

The Hammers followed up their 1-0 win over Chelsea by holding Arsenal to a goalless draw on Wednesday night, although the East London outfit remain in the bottom three of the Premier League table.

However, with Moyes not using a recognised striker during those fixtures, the Scot has admitted that he will have to change his approach for the club's upcoming matches.

The 54-year-old is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying: "I would say for the majority of the game we would have to praise the boys for how disciplined they were as defenders and how well they stuck to their task against a good team that caused us problems.

"I think it will give us good confidence because of the results. If you had given me four points against Chelsea and Arsenal, actually we were unlucky against Manchester City. We were unlucky not to equalise even after we went 2-1 down to make it two each.

"So there are good signs and maybe we can keep this level of performance up but the performances will have to change because we'll be playing against a different type of opposition. But I'd have to say we've done a pretty decent job against these teams."

Moyes had Andre Ayew, Javier Hernandez, Diafra Sakho and Andy Carroll all in reserve at the London Stadium on Wednesday evening.

West Ham face Stoke City and Newcastle United in their next two encounters in the top flight.
