Mark Noble has insisted that there must be clear signs of improvement from West Ham United in the Premier League this season.
Despite enjoying an impressive run of form in the latter stages of the previous campaign to secure 14th spot, Noble believes that too much of the season was spent in the relegation zone.
"I probably only enjoyed about two months of last season," the midfielder told reporters. "We were in the bottom three and then put a few results together and jumped to 10th, but from 10th downwards last year everyone was in a relegation scrap, and that's not where we want to be.
"We've got two weeks to knuckle down and do what we need to do to become a proper team. Hopefully we can get another couple of signings in and enjoy this season."
The Hammers begin the season against Tottenham Hotspur on August 16.
