West Ham midfielder Dominic Vose has been arrested on suspicion of rape.
The 17-year-old was accused of raping a 16-year-old girl at a party in Herne Hill, South London, last month. He was interviewed by police before being released on bail until June.
Vose secured his first professional contract last November, joining the Hammers from Fulham on his 17th birthday.
A spokesman for Scotland Yard confirmed: "Sapphire officers are investigating an allegation. A 16-year-old claims she was raped on March 26. A man was arrested on March 27 and has been bailed. Inquiries continue."
West Ham has yet to comment on the incident.
