Winston Reid has spoken of the importance of getting another three points on the board after he scored a late winner for West Ham United in their encounter with Sunderland this afternoon.
The Hammers got off to a torrid start to the new season, with five defeats in their opening six games, but have now won back-to-back games and risen to 15th in the table.
Slaven Bilic's side looked set to be consigned to a point from their game with the rock-bottom Black Cats at the London Stadium until Reid made the most of a corner in the 94th minute.
"Obviously after the period we have been in it was so important to get the three points," he told Sky Sports News. "We played well in the first half an hour and they got back into it. Second half we didn't start well, it was a bit back and forth but we were fortunate at the end I was able to put one in. "We kept going until the end and believed we could get something out of it. We just need to get injured players back and get the squad fully fit." West Ham next welcome Chelsea in the EFL Cup on Wednesday ahead of a tricky trip to Everton in the league next weekend.
