West Ham United defender Pablo Zabaleta has said that it can only be "good news" that Manuel Lanzini has returned to the first-team squad.
During Sunday's 4-1 defeat to Manchester City, Lanzini was substituted by manager David Moyes, who has suggested that he was unhappy with the Argentine's defensive contribution.
However, Zabaleta has backed his compatriot to make an impact before the end of the season as the Hammers look to remain in the Premier League.
The 33-year-old told the London Evening Standard: "He's probably one of our most creative players in the team.
"It hasn't been a good season for him in terms of injuries but, of course, to have Manu back in the team is good news so hopefully he can help us to get some points in the next game."
Lanzini has contributed three goals and six assists in 24 top-flight outings during the current campaign.
