West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has refused to comment on speculation that has linked his club with a move for Asamoah Gyan.
Recent reports had suggested that Allardyce had identified the former Sunderland frontman as his number one target to ease the current striker shortage at Upton Park.
However, when asked specifically about the 28-year-old, Allardyce said: "We will be linked with anyone who is a centre-forward that might be coming back to the country. If there is a player of any sort of quality we will try and find out what the situation might be, but there is nothing more than that."
Gyan currently plays his football in the United Arab Emirates for Al Ain.
