West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce has said that the club are "very close" to completing a deal for Ecuador's World Cup star Enner Valencia.
The 25-year-old, who scored three goals in this summer's competition, currently represents Mexican outfit Pachuca, who he joined in January.
However, the striker is on course for a move to Europe in the coming days.
"We're very close, but nothing is ever certain in this game with new signings until they have actually signed on the dotted line," Allardyce told Sky Sports News.
Valencia has scored 18 times in 23 games for Pachuca.
