West Ham United manager David Moyes has confirmed that the club will offer Lukasz Fabianski a new deal to stay on for the 2022-23 season.

The 36-year-old has cemented his place as the Hammers' number one despite the arrival of Alphonse Areola and has kept seven clean sheets in 29 Premier League appearances this season.

Fabianski's current West Ham deal now has less than six months left to run, but Moyes has insisted that the former Arsenal man will be rewarded with a new 12-month offer.

"Lukasz has played really well this year and we will be keeping him next year - of course we will. I think maybe the age Lukasz is at, we have tried to spare him," Moyes told reporters.

"I have to say I think Lukasz, touch wood, has been very good in the league and performed consistently well. He might have more competition and he might be a year older, but at the moment he is doing really well.

"I actually think Lukasz has been pushed by Alphonse, who has done really well for us in European and cup games as well."

Fabianski has recorded 33 shutouts in 131 games for West Ham since arriving from Swansea City in 2018 and retired from international duty with Poland last year after earning 57 caps for his national team. body check tags ::
