Real Betis forward Loren Moron has revealed that he turned down the chance to join West Ham United during the recent summer transfer window.
Moron has scored nine times in 23 La Liga appearances for Betis since breaking into the first team, including two in seven fixtures for the Spanish giants this term.
The 24-year-old has said that West Ham tried to sign him during the summer window, but the centre-forward ultimately signed a new contract with Betis until the summer of 2022.
"It is true there were several clubs who contacted me regarding their interest and we had one firm proposal from [West Ham]," Loren told Estadio Deportivo.
"I did not want to throw away the opportunity I have here at Betis after moving through the youth system and playing for the reserve side.
"I let my agents know, I told my parents and friends and told them that my intention was to stay and continue here. Now I am finally reaping what I sowed a long time ago and I am enjoying my time here a lot."
Moron only made his first-team debut for Betis in February.
