West Ham United have reportedly been told that it would take a fee of £16m to snap up Rennes defender Nayef Aguerd.
With David Moyes preparing to lead his side out in the Europa League next term, West Ham have been tipped to move for the 25-year-old, who already has Champions League experience under his belt.
The Hammers are thought to have opened talks with Rennes over a deal for Aguerd, who still has another three years left to run on his deal with Bruno Genesio's side.
According to Football Insider, West Ham have been told to fork out around £16m to land the signature of Aguerd, which the club are happy to pay given their need to replace Fabian Balbuena.
The report adds that David Sullivan is at the forefront of negotiations for Aguerd, who is admired for his versatility and ability to deputise on the left-hand side of defence.
The Morocco international featured 40 times for Rennes in all competitions last term, during which he scored three goals from 35 Ligue 1 starts.
