West Ham United have reportedly placed Manuel Pellegrini at the top of their shortlist to replace David Moyes, should the latter depart East London.
According to The Sun, the Hammers are monitoring the situation on and off the pitch at the London Stadium following continued protests from fans over the club's ownership.
The newspaper adds that West Ham are unsure if Moyes is the man to guide the team through their current uncertainties, with former Manchester City boss Pellegrini potentially better suited to the role.
Pellegrini, who won the Premier League title with City in 2014, is currently in China managing Hebei China Fortune, and West Ham are allegedly wary of making a move until the club's top-flight status is assured for next season.
West Ham are two points above the relegation zone with eight games remaining.
