Wigan Athletic centre-back Antolin Alcaraz has been charged by the FA for spitting at Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Richard Stearman.
The incident, which took place at Molineux yesterday as Wolves won 3-1, was not seen by the match officials.
However, video footage shows Paraguayan Alcaraz spitting on Stearman's shirt following an altercation.
He now has until 6pm tomorrow evening to respond to the charge. If he accepts it, the 29-year-old will serve an automatic three-match suspension.
