Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has said that his club's position, despite being rockbottom of the Premier League, is easier than those of their relegation rivals.
The Spanish manager cited what he believes is a simpler run-in than other sides facing the drop like Bolton, Blackburn and Wolves.
"The position we are in is an easier position than anyone else," said Martinez, 38.
"We've played Spurs and Manchester City twice so we've only got two games left against top-four sides.
"We have nothing to lose from now on. We feel strongly that we control our own destiny, even though we are bottom."
The Latics, who are also bottom of the form table having picked up just one point from the last six games, host Everton later this afternoon.
