Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez believes that his team are progressing well, despite clinching just one win from their first five Premier League matches.

The Latics are currently sat in 15th place in the table but Martinez has insisted that consistency will come.

"Looking at the ending of last season, in the last nine games and the last nine performances we were very consistent," said Martinez.

"We reached a very good level so we know that we've got it. Now it's just a matter of producing it at the early stages of the season."

Wigan travel to Sunderland this weekend.
