Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez is reportedly struggling to convince midfielder Mohamed Diame to sign a new deal at the club
The 24-year-old, who has been at the heart of the Latics' recent surge in form, will leave the DW Stadium on free transfer if he cannot agree terms before the end of June.
Martinez is said to be desperate to keep Diame, but the Senegalese does not want to sign until Wigan's Premier League survival is guaranteed, according to The Sun.
Wigan are currently five points clear of the relegation zone, although 18th-placed Bolton Wanderers have two games in hand.
