Leon Clarke: 'I have matured since leaving Wolverhampton Wanderers'

New signing Leon Clarke insists that he has matured after signing an 18-month deal to return to Wolverhampton Wanderers, six years after first departing Molineux.

Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Leon Clarke has insisted that he is a "completely different person" after sealing a return to Molineux.

Clarke has left Coventry City to rejoin a side that he departed in 2007, but after the transfer was greeted with a mixed reaction from the team's supporters, the forward has claimed that he has matured as a person since his first stint with the Black Country outfit when he failed to fulfil his potential with the club.

The 28-year-old told the Express & Star: "At the time, there was a lot of immaturity from me. But I'm a completely different person nine years later and more experienced.

"You learn from things like that, take them on board, and try to be a better person. You look at the way that you go about things and try to do them differently and be professional.

"I know how any player at Wolves is judged and that's on hard work. If you're not working hard enough for the team, then it's right that you get found out."

Clarke netted 15 goals during 83 appearances in his previous spell at Wolves, but he has scored the same number of goals in League One for Coventry during the current campaign.
