Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder David Edwards has revealed that he is currently on target to recover from a broken foot for the start of next season.
Edwards suffered the injury in March which resulted in him watching from the sidelines as Wolves were relegated from the Championship, but the Welsh international has insisted that he should be fit for the club's opening game at Preston North End.
The 27-year-old told the club's official website: "I have managed to get a couple of weeks away with the family which was great but apart from that, I have been here all summer making sure I am right for pre-season.
"It's all going to plan so far, touch wood, and I should be ready to start training next week with the rest of the lads.
"It was always going to be tough and go to see if I would be ready to start pre-season, but everything has gone well and as long as I don't have any reaction, I should be okay."
The former Luton Town midfielder made 17 appearances for the Molineux outfit last season.
