Scott Golbourne: 'Wolverhampton Wanderers must maintain high standards'

Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Scott Golbourne admits that his side let their high standards drop during the second half of their win over Swindon Town on Tuesday night.

Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Scott Golbourne has warned his side that they can't afford to get complacent at this stage of the season.

The League One leaders have won nine successive games to move two points clear at the top of the table, but Golbourne has admitted that his side were "sloppy" during the second half of their 4-1 victory over Swindon Town on Tuesday evening.

The 26-year-old is quoted by the Express & Star as saying: "You can't just turn up and win in 45 minutes – you have to keep standards up for 90 minutes. That was a definite reminder of that the other night.

"We set high standards, we can't just turn up and win games. Nobody is big enough or good enough to do that. We got a bit sloppy on the ball and maybe tried to play in areas that we didn't need to when they were pressing really high and had nothing to lose.

"They got a foothold in the game and we rode our luck a bit so we were a bit disappointed with the second-half performance."

Golbourne has made 32 appearances for Wolves since joining from Barnsley last summer.
