Wolverhampton Wanderers interim coach Terry Connor has confirmed that Roger Johnson will keep the captaincy at the club, despite facing internal disciplinary action.
The defender is expected to be fined after he reportedly turned up to training on Monday under the influence of alcohol. The 28-year-old later issued an apology for his actions.
"Roger reported for work not fit to train properly. I would be disappointed with any player in that situation. I said to him what he did was unacceptable," Connor told reporters.
"The matter was dealt with on Tuesday, he has apologised, he knows he did wrong and has taken his punishment.
"There are no immediate plans to change anything. He carries on as captain for the foreseeable future."
Wolves, who are currently 18th in the Premier League table, host fellow strugglers Blackburn Rovers at Molineux on Saturday.
