Wolverhampton Wanderers attacking midfielder Diogo Jota has said that he is pleased to have adapted well to the English game since joining on loan from Atletico Madrid.

The Portuguese is on the books at Molineux until the end of the season, but Wolves are reportedly keen on making the deal permanent in January after his impressive start at the club.

Jota has scored nine goals and set up a further four in the Championship, with his performances a key factor in sending Nuno Espirito Santo's side to the top of the second tier.

"I tried to adapt my game. In Portugal we don't have a physical game like here," Jota told the Express & Star. "When I adapt, it's not my body that will adapt, it's my mind and that's what I'm doing here.

"I think when I arrived here I already knew what I was expecting so I don't think about that. I'm pleased [to have handled it]. "We're facing teams that are coming with a specific [plan]. It's a sign we're doing a good job and we have to find way to overcome that.

"I think that's what the defenders are doing and the referees are already advised so I don't get my mind on that."

Wolves are four points clear of second-placed Cardiff City in the Championship ahead of this weekend's tie with Sunderland.
