Former Rangers boss Walter Smith is believed to be seriously considering the Wolverhampton Wanderers managerial position after the Premier League club offered him the job until the end of the season.
The 63-year-old emerged as a potential candidate for the vacancy this week following the sacking of Mick McCarthy.
While Smith was thought to be ready to reject a long-term contract, it is understood that the coach is considering accepting an offer of a short-term deal, according to reports.
Alan Curbishley, Gus Poyet and Steve Bruce have also been linked to the position.
