Wolverhampton Wanderers have issued a statement in response to the English Football League's (EFL) plans to meet with club officials to discuss its relationship with Jorge Mendes.
The governing body pledged to speak to the Championship outfit after several of their second-tier rivals called for Wolves' affiliation with the influential agent to be investigated.
The Midlands club have now issued a statement claiming that there is no foul play involved, insisting that they comply with FA and Football League regulations.
"We are very clear on FA and EFL regulations and always comply with them explicitly," read a message on the club's official website.
"We welcome any form of communication with the EFL to reiterate our position, and we fully anticipate the release of a further EFL statement in support of Wolves and the club's operations to bring a prompt resolution to this matter."
EFL representatives are meeting with Wolves officials to "reiterate the requirements of [its] regulations and those of the FA" and will report back to the governing body's board about the outcome of the talks.
