Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Kenny Jackett has claimed that he will assess Shola Ameobi's performance in the Under-21 side tonight before deciding whether or not to give the striker a contract.
The 33-year-old, who has been a free agent since leaving Crystal Palace in June, has been training with the Championship outfit over the last few days.
"We will see how he does in [an U21] game [against Swansea] as to whether we extend and see whether he can bring some experience to our frontline," Jackett told the club's official website.
"With his power and his size, ability to hold the ball up and presence in the 18-yard box, is he someone who can offset the forwards we have and give us some balance."
Ameobi spent 14 years at Newcastle United before leaving in 2014.
