Wolverhampton Wanderers have allegedly agreed to sell striker Joe Mason to Colorado Rapids.

During the January transfer window, Mason returned to Wolves after a loan spell with Burton Albion and it appeared that the player would remain at Molineux having failed to secure a departure before the end of the month.

However, according to Colorado Rapids boss Anthony Hudson, Mason will be making the switch to the MLS in time for the start of the new campaign.

At a press conference, Hudson told reporters: "There have been reports about Joe Mason. We're really pleased that we've come to an agreement with the club and the player.

"It's a great signing for us. He's a top player. Played at a really high level. He's going to suit how we play, going to suit the League so now all we're waiting for is the formalities - visas and these types of things."

In just over two years at Wolves, Mason has netted eight goals in 39 appearances in all competitions.
