Head coach Gary O'Neil has confirmed that Wolverhampton Wanderers will enter the transfer market for a new forward in January.
On Wednesday night, Wolves produced a ruthless performance to post a 4-1 victory away at Brentford to see the club return to 11th position in the Premier League standings.
The West Midlands outfit have now scored in all but two of their top-flight fixtures this season, only failing to net away at Manchester United and West Ham United.
However, changes to the squad have been anticipated for some time with top goalscorer Hwang Hee-chan due to represent South Korea in the Asia Cup in January.
His form and that of Matheus Cunha has meant that Sasa Kalajdzic and Fabio Silva have seen their game time heavily restricted since the start of August.
Reports have indicated that Wolves have been scouring the market in the hope of identifying a new addition for their frontline next month.
O'Neil has now acknowledged that will be the case, also suggesting that another left-sided player may be considered courtesy of Rayan Ait-Nouri linking up with Algeria for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Speaking to Amazon Prime Video, the Englishman said: "We will try to do some stuff, definitely, because Channy and Sasa are our only nines really, and Channy is not really a nine. We use him as a nine because we are a little bit short there.
"He is going to go away on international duty, Rayan will be away, so there is a little bit that we need to do, of course. But it will be within what is right for the club, maybe a few going out."
Hwang has put himself in the conversation for Player of the Year in the Premier League, with each of his 10 goals and two assists coming in separate matches until he contributed a double versus Brentford.
The likelihood is that a permanent or temporary transfer will be found for Silva, who has not featured since November 9 and has already been linked with a number of foreign clubs.
Despite scoring winning goals against Everton and Bournemouth, the future of Kalajdzic will also come into question having accumulated just 282 minutes of football in all competitions during 2023-24.
