Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly still in the hunt for Sam Gallagher, but they could be made to wait until the end of the transfer window to land the Southampton striker.
The Championship outfit have made a string of exciting signings during the summer months, most recently bringing in Brazilian forward Leo Bonatini on loan from Al-Hilal.
Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo is still light on strikers and is keen to sign Gallagher, however, with the Express & Star suggesting that the Portuguese is prepared to play the long game.
It is claimed that Southampton are reluctant to offload the 21-year-old until they themselves bring in a new striker, which could see any deal go right down to the wire.
Wolves are said to be more interested in a loan move, meanwhile, as they fear breaching financial fair play rules after spending £47m over the past 12 months.
