Wolves transfer news: In-form Fabio Silva attracting interest from three Premier League clubs?

Three Premier League clubs are allegedly monitoring the development of Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Fabio Silva, who is currently starring at Las Palmas.

Three Premier League clubs have reportedly identified Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Fabio Silva as a potential transfer target.

The 22-year-old's career at Molineux is essentially deemed over with the £35m signing having contributed just five goals and six assists from his 72 appearances for the West Midlands outfit and remaining out of the plans of Gary O'Neil.

However, Silva has generally made an impression across several loan stints elsewhere, scoring 22 goals across 76 appearances for Anderlecht, PSV Eindhoven and Rangers.

Since moving to Las Palmas, though, Silva has started to showcase his talent on a consistent basis, the newly-capped Portugal international most recently scoring the winning goal in a 2-1 victory at Barcelona on Saturday afternoon.

Silva - now 22 years of age - has five goals and one assist from his 11 outings in La Liga, and Las Palmas will hope that he can spearhead their effort to survive in Spain's top flight.

Premier League trio watching Silva

Nevertheless, Wolves will be eyeing up the sale of Silva during the summer transfer window with their former club-record addition having just over 18 months remaining on his contract.

According to Fichajes, Brentford, Bournemouth and Southampton are all monitoring the situation ahead of 2025.

Should Silva's form continue throughout the campaign, Wolves will be expecting to recoup higher than the fee that they were perhaps anticipating when he made the loan switch to Las Palmas.

That said, there will be an acknowledgement that they cannot get into a situation where Silva could run his contract down in the future.

Silva may also be against moving to another Premier League club unless he is guaranteed regular starts. Since signing for Wolves in September 2020, he has featured in a top-flight XI on just 20 occasions.

Which club is best suited to Silva?

With Bournemouth and Brentford having Evanilson and Yoane Wissa as their first-choice frontmen, it is unlikely that Silva would dislodge either player.

The Cherries paid £40m for the former and he has since made 11 Premier League starts. Meanwhile, Wissa has proven to be a like-for-like replacement for Ivan Toney with eight goals from 10 appearances.

While there is scope for Silva to become the main man at Southampton, the Saints would have to remain in the Premier League. Furthermore, now a full international, the player will want to be challenging for silverware over being involved in a relegation battle.

Therefore, it appears highly likely that Silva would shun all three moves should they become a realistic possibility, particularly when he would undoubtedly have interest from higher-profile European clubs. body check tags ::
