Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly stepped up their efforts to sign Marseille defender Duje Caleta-Car.

Bruno Lage is eager to sign a new centre-back and central midfielder before close of play on Tuesday, particularly with his side losing three successive games in the Premier League.

Reports emerged on Monday evening that Lille midfielder Renato Sanches could arrive at Molineux on Tuesday on a season-long loan deal.

According to Foot01.com, Wolves are pursuing fellow Ligue 1 player Caleta-Car and are prepared to pay £8.6m for his signature.

Marseille are open to cashing in on the player, who featured in two of Croatia's four fixtures during Euro 2020.

Wolves are said to have failed in a bid to sign Lille's Sven Botman, while Fulham's Tosin Adarabioyo is also allegedly on their radar.
