Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed that they have terminated the contract of Nenad Milijas "by mutual agreement".
The Serbian midfielder, 29, had a year left on his deal with the Midlands club but was deemed surplus to requirements by new manager Stale Solbakken.
"The manager had told Nenad that his opportunities were going to be very limited this season and, as a result, we have reached mutual agreement on the cancellation of his contract," said chief executive Jez Moxey.
"He is therefore free to pursue other options and leaves with the best wishes of everyone at the club. He has been a very popular member of the squad, a real clubman who has been great to deal with, and we wish him every success in the future."
Solbakken recently admitted that he was looking to trim down the size of the Wolves squad as he brings in new signings to the Championship side.
Centre-back Christophe Berra and winger Stephen Hunt have also been made available for transfer.
