West Midlands rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa are both said to have shown interest in Angers striker Enzo Crivelli.
The 22-year-old moved to the Ligue 1 side from Bordeaux in a four-year, £3.5m deal last summer and has a hitrate of just one goal in 15 appearances for the side to date.
According to L'Equipe, Championship leaders Wolves and promotion hopefuls Villa are nevertheless said to be interested in the French youth international and are preparing to submit offers before the transfer window closes next week.
Wolves are said to be in the hunt for a striker this month as they look to make certain of a return to the Premier League in the second half of the campaign, and have also been linked with the likes of AC Milan's Andre Silva and Derby County's Chris Martin in recent weeks.
Steve Bruce's Villa, meanwhile, have yet to make a signing this month but have prioritised attacking additions as they look to continue their ascent up the Championship table.
