Michael Schumacher has said that he remains confident of still being capable of winning Formula 1 races, ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix this weekend.
The seven-time world champion has only picked up two points from the first six races of the season, but he was fastest in qualifying in Monaco before being demoted five places down the grid.
That has left the Mercedes driver feeling optimistic ahead of the race at the Gilles-Villeneuve circuit, as he bids to become the seventh different race winner of the season.
Schumacher said: "I am very confident. After we have come back from the start of the season to now, this is probably the closest we have been to having a good result this week."
Fernando Alonso currently leads the drivers' standings, three points ahead of Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber.
