Fernando Alonso has insisted that Ferrari must continue to develop their car if he is to maintain his lead in the Formula 1 drivers' championship.
The 31-year-old has opened up a 34-point gap at the top of the standings, but he is keen to stress that he and his team need to keep improving the car.
Alonso said: "We are in a good position but we are only halfway through with 10 races left. We need to keep working hard.
"We have to maximise what we have in our hands. There's still McLaren, Red Bull, Lotus and Mercedes. Everyone is still in contention."
Alonso was speaking ahead of this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix.
