Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso has hailed his performance as the "perfect Sunday" at the Italian Grand Prix.
The Spaniard climbed from 10th on the grid to finish the race in third place and maintain his lead in the Drivers' Championship.
Alonso has admitted that he never thought he would win the race but is happy to have finished on the podium.
"Absolutely perfect Sunday for us. Obviously the win was out of reach after starting 10th," said Alonso.
"If we cannot win, podium is next target and all the predictions was never on the podium finish, so much better than I expected.
"Jenson [Button] and the two Red Bulls were out of the race, so [it's the] perfect Sunday for me."
The next race is the Singapore Grand Prix on September 23.
