Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali has insisted that driver Fernando Alonso can still win the drivers' championship this season.
Alonso recovered from a poor qualifying session to finish third in Texas, but is 13 points behind leader Sebastian Vettel going into the final race of the season.
"Well I think that considering the situation that we had on Saturday after qualifying, we have to see the result on Sunday as a positive result," Domenicali said.
"At the end of the day we are able to stay in the fight for the drivers' championship up until the last race in Brazil and it wasn't easy to think that it was possible on Saturday evening.
"Even if we are not really performing I think that at the end of the day we have achieved a lot of what we wanted to achieve, so we'll stay focused at this stage to prepare in the best way that we can."
