Ferrari engineering director Pat Fry has insisted that the Formula 1 team are aiming to be "second best" behind current leaders Mercedes.
The team were dealt a blow when team principal Stefano Domenicali resigned from his role following a poor start to the 2014 campaign.
"Currently, our first priority is to establish ourselves as the second best team," Fry told ESPN. "We are looking at all areas of the car - power unit, aero, suspension. We are trying to make as big a step as we can for each and every race."
Ahead of this weekend's Chinese Grand Prix, Ferrari currently sit fifth in the constructors' championship, 78 points adrift of Mercedes after three races.
