Not all Formula 1 teams will be unveiling their new 2025 cars at the newly-announced season launch event, scheduled for February at London's O2 arena.
While F1 has confirmed that every driver and team boss will be in attendance, amid rumours of performances from Justin Bieber and Madonna, only a few of the actual 2025 cars will be on display, according to one authoritative report.
The event, celebrating the sport's 75th anniversary, is intended to showcase all 2025 liveries. However, as reported by Auto Motor und Sport, "a compromise was reached" that allows teams to participate without unveiling their actual new cars.
"For technology fans, the event will therefore be relatively uninteresting," said correspondent Tobias Gruner.
La Gazzetta dello Sport had initially suggested that all cars would be revealed together on February 18, but Auto Motor und Sport's Gruner clarified that due to teams' reluctance to give up their individual launch events for marketing reasons, the compromise will only display some brand new cars at the O2 launch.
Ferrari's Frederic Vasseur added that most 2025 cars will ultimately look quite similar to this year's models due to the stable regulations. "The teams have maximised the potential of the cars built to the current regulations," he noted. "With each update, we only make small progress."
With the technical overhaul arriving in 2026, some teams may even choose to focus most of their resources on developing their next-generation car. "A lower finish in the constructors' championship will also allow them more time in the wind tunnel when it really matters," Vasseur explained. body check tags ::
