It was a Ferrari one-two in the first practice session of the Spanish Grand Prix as Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen were first and second on the timesheet respectively.

Nico Rosberg, who has a 43-point lead in the championship, traded places with Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton at the top in the early stages of the session.

However, the German clocked the third-quickest time and reigning champion Hamilton, who is yet to win a race this season, recorded the fourth fastest.

All eyes were on Max Verstappen as he ran out in the Red Bull for the first time since replacing seats with Daniil Kvyat.

After some acceleration problems, the Belgian managed to set the sixth-quickest lap of the morning.
