The Formula 1 team Haas is now finally on its way to Monza.
The American team and its billionaire owner, Gene Haas, were previously held back in Zandvoort by Dutch authorities due to an unpaid debt owed to their former Russian sponsor, Uralkali. The team was only permitted to leave once the outstanding amount was deposited into Uralkali's account.
Uralkali, a company with close ties to Dmitry Mazepin, father of former Haas driver Nikita Mazepin, has now confirmed that the outstanding sum—reported to be approximately 10 million euros—has been "received in full."
"We have also collected the race car owed to us under the terms of the sponsorship agreement," a company spokeswoman mentioned.
"As such, Uralkali has notified Dutch authorities that they may release Haas' assets from arrest as an interim measure, and Haas is free to take them out of the Netherlands," she continued.
Meanwhile, a Haas spokesman shared with the Algemeen Dagblad newspaper: "Uralkali has now confirmed that it has received the amount, and that is why our trucks have permission to leave the Netherlands and travel to Italy." body check tags ::
