Lotus boss Eric Boullier has insisted that Romain Grosjean understands what he needs to do for the rest of the Formula 1 season.

Grosjean has shown glimpses of form this season, with podium finishes in Bahrain, Canada and Hungary.

Despite this, his performances have often been marred by numerous accidents. He was handed a one-race ban earlier in the season for causing a crash and was also labelled a 'first-lap nutcase' by Mark Webber.

"It is definitely time for us to draw a line and move on," said Boullier. "But it is also time for Romain to put it in the past himself.

"Despite a lot of pressure, he drove a good clean race in Korea and I fully believe he now understands what he needs to do to avoid these things in the future.

"I think he's learning from these experiences and it will only make him stronger as a driver."

The next race on the Formula 1 calendar is the Indian Grand Prix, which takes place next weekend.
