Lotus technical director James Allison has insisted that Kimi Raikkonen can win the Formula 1 title this season.
Raikkonen is 48 points behind leader Fernando Alonso but Allison believes that there is enough time left in the season for the Finn to catch the Ferrari driver.
When asked if Raikkonen has a chance at winning his second title, Allison said: "Why not?"
"There are an awful lot of points for coming first and an awful lot of races left. The lead is miniscule compared to the points available," he told Sky Sports News.
Raikkonen returned to Formula 1 this season after pursuing a career in rallying and NASCAR.
