Lewis Hamilton admits to feeling numb after crashing out of the Brazilian Grand Prix in his last race for McLaren.

Lewis Hamilton has admitted following his final race for McLaren that he feels both "numb" and "excited" after a dramatic Brazilian Grand Prix.

Hamilton led the race until late on before he was forced to retire after a clash with Force India's Nico Hulkenburg.

His teammate Jenson Button went on to win the race and help Sebastian Vettel secure a third consecutive drivers' championship.

The 27-year-old insisted that he is leaving McLaren with a heavy heart but is relishing the challenge of driving for Mercedes.

He told BBC Sport: "I feel OK. I am happy for the team that we got a win and feeling good for the future.

"I feel numb, a little bit like I did in 2007, it is mixed emotions at the moment. Sad that we were leading and I didn't get to see through the race and also that I am leaving.

"But I am excited for the future and hopefully I will have a little bit of luck at some stage."

Hamilton finishes the season in fourth place in the drivers' standings, a whopping 91 points behind Vettel.
