McLaren's Jenson Button has said that he is confident of performing well in tomorrow's Chinese Grand Prix, despite qualifying in fifth place.

Button, 32, set the sixth-fastest time of the final round of qualifying but has been bumped up to fifth because of teammate Lewis Hamilton's five-place grid drop for a gearbox change.

McLaren's 'race pace' is usually impressive and both Button and Hamilton will be hoping to move through the field in tomorrow morning's fourth GP of the year.

"The aim still has to be for victory and our race pace seems to be very good," Button told Sky Sports F1.

"It won't easy, but we'll probably be quicker than most of the cars in front. The one unusual one is [Sauber's Kamui] Kobayashi and their pace seems very good."

Tomorrow morning's race goes off at 8am with Mercedes duo Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher on the front row.
