McLaren driver Jenson Button has said that he wants to build on his encouraging practice in Monaco and grab pole position for the first time in three years at the famous street circuit.
Button, 32, last started from the front in F1 in the French principality in 2009 and is hoping that topping the timesheets in practice yesterday is a good omen.
The Englishman said: "Pole is possible for about 10 cars out there because as we all know it's about who gets it right on the day.
"You have to be positive and hope you can get the best set-up, the best feeling with the car and put together the best lap."
He added: "I'm happy with the way the car felt, but we're still not there yet. We were quickest, but it wasn't massively quick."
Qualifying gets underway this afternoon with the drivers having one last shot at practice round the Monte Carlo streets this morning.
