Kevin Magnussen says he is looking to learn as much as possible from Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button, as he looks to regain his place on the Formula 1 grid.

McLaren reserve driver Kevin Magnussen has revealed that he is looking to learn as much as possible from the team's senior drivers, as he bids to return to the grid on a full-time basis.

The Dane stood in for Fernando Alonso at the Australian Grand Prix after the Spaniard suffered injuries in a pre-season crash at Barcelona.

However, with Alonso back in the car, Magnussen has admitted that he is trying to learn as much as possible from the two-time world champion and teammate Jenson Button.

He is quoted by F1i as saying: "There's a lot to learn, especially with the two drivers we have. Fernando and Jenson are the most experienced drivers in the paddock so there's a huge amount to learn from them.

"It's very interesting listening to their feedback and the way they set up the car and work with the engineers. There's loads to learn."

Magnussen drove for McLaren during the 2014 season before being demoted after the team decided to pair Button with Alonso.
