McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh promises "headline-grabbing" additions to his team.

McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh has promised that his team will make "headline-grabbing" additions to the technical staff in the coming months.

Jenson Button currently lies in ninth place in the Drivers' Championship, with his Mexican teammate Sergio Perez down in 12th.

In addition, McLaren are languishing in fifth place in the constructors' standings, 301 points behind leaders Red Bull.

"We can never - and certainly this year - be satisfied with where we are," Whitmarsh told the Daily Mail. "So we've been recruiting on the technical side, strengthening quite a lot. There have been quite a few new starters this year.

"There are also some as yet unannounced that will be headline-grabbing when they are, so there are things going on.

"We have to look at ourselves as a team, from the top management all the way through, as well as our technical team, to ensure we return to winning ways as quickly as possible."

Button and Perez finished 11th and 12th fastest respectively in qualifying for tomorrow's Korean Grand Prix, although both drivers will move up a place on the grid because of a 10-place penalty for Red Bull's Mark Webber.
